Plug improves reliability of card edge connections

The HARTING AdvancedMC plug has been developed to further enhance the contact reliability of the connection of AdvancedMC modules and MicroTCA backplanes. The new connector replaces the card edge and associated gold contact pads of the AdvancedMC module, which can suffer from variable surface quality and unstable tolerances and are expensive to produce. The AdvancedMC Plug, on the other hand, is manufactured using a tightly specified process and offers the highest degree of contact reliability and protection against wear and corrosion.

SMT connectors for Flexible Printed Circuits

Harwin has released the F08 series of surface mount, 0.8mm pitch connectors for use with Flexible Printed Circuits (FPC) or flat conductor planar cables. Supplied in tubes and tape and reel packaging with two contact variations – horizontal top and horizontal bottom – SMT metal solder-down tabs provide additional strain relief. Available with 4 to 30 contacts, F08 connectors are also zero insertion force devices, simplifying assembly and minimising the risk of damage.

PCB mount USB connectors deliver data speeds up to 480 Mbit/s

Ultra-miniature strip connector incorporates hyperboloid contacts

Hypertac has announced the launch of its ultra-miniature high density RD strip connector for PCB connections. It has been designed for particular use in applications that operate in severe environments such as electronic equipment in aerospace and defence applications. Using the 0.30 mm hyperboloid contact, the high density RD connector is offered in one or two rows with a pitch of 1.27 mm, enabling a contact density up to 60 ways per cm2. It is available in either SMT or THT termination type, and is customisable for pick-and-place machines.
